Game time!

Okay, I am still working more hours than I'm comfortable with, but at the same time I am happy with the direction my life is taking, and to celebrate that I decided to host a little game. I call it "guess the HAED" and it pretty much describes what you must do. Last month Kelly from GA decided to RAK me on my birthday, which was awfully nice of her and caught me by surprise. It made me look through my HAED stash and regardless of the WIPocalypse madness I have going on, I just had to start working on one of them! It also inspired this bit of fun.
So here's the rules:
1, Kelly, I love you, but sadly, you are disqualified. :)
2, You may go through the HAED website, but please don't look at my wish list for clues!
3, If you believe you identified the project, leave a comment with the name of the design you think it is. One guess per player please!
4, If one person gets it right, he/she gets a small prize.
4.1, If more people get it right, I will pick one of them for the prize.
4.2, If no one gets it right, everyone takes part in the sweepstake.
5, You have until midnight of July 17th to guess.
6, I will publish the results here on my blog.
7, Kelly will be compensated for not being able to take part. ;)

So start guessing and good luck!

Edited to add: okay, I take back rule two, you can look at my WL if you wish. But really, leaving a comment with any HAED design that has blue in the top left corner will get you in the draw, so as I said in my comment, consider this a giveaway! :)
I have also removed word verification, as I have to approve every comment anyway, so no point.

What have I done?

Seriously. Is my Xmas SAL project cursed? I lost my floss! What is going on here? I know I had at least one more skein, but I cannot find it anywhere. It was right here, on my table, between the keyboard and the screen for ages. Along with dozens of other things, that, unlike my floss, are still here, gathering dust. All right, so I am not the tidiest housewife, correction, housesinglemom, in the world. In fact, I am sure I am somewhere at the bottom of the tidy list. But I always take care of my stash! There is at least one, possibly one and a half skeins of Raspberry Parfait floss located in my flat some place, I just don't know the exact spot. I spent the day looking for it. I found copious amounts of stuff I didn't remember I had, but the floss remains missing. I am fuming. In my day-long monologue I have used every curse word known to mankind and went on to invent a few new ones. Still the floss is missing. I swear, there must be an evil little goblin sneaking in every once in a while and relocate my stuff as a prank.

Shelley's giveaway

Shelley is giving away the charts and floss for the John Clayton version of the famed Neuschwanstein castle.
I wish I had more to say but I just have my brain drained today. Not sure why. I have depression creeping around the corner, I can tell by now.

I won!

I am so excited! You may remember that I entered a giveaway at the GoldenAngelsWorks blog and even posted my 17th birthday photo. Well, I won one of the prizes, a collection of cross stitch magazines! It's the first time I ever won anything on a giveaway! Thank you so much!
I hope it also means that my streak of bad luck, that lasted for about 24-30 months, is about to end. I could really use some help from above, and angels are always welcome here.
Fae are also invited.

And yet another project

I admit it, I started stitching on a new project last week. I couldn't help it. I had this beautiful chart by Ink Circles for quite some time. I had the fabric and the floss neatly put aside for so long. I just couldn't resist it any longer!
Unfortunately, I don't have my camera with me, so you will have to make do with the pictures I took on my cell phone. However, before I attach those pictures, I wanna thank Pat once more for giving me this beautiful chart. She was blogging about her progress on this project and made me fell in love with it. So when I commented on her fabulous stitching, she decided to simply give me the chart when she was finished! You don't see generosity like that every day... well, unless you are lucky enough to be a stitching blogger with many similar friends you don't . You ladies (and the occasional gentlemen) know that I'm right. Follow enough blogs and you get news of a new giveaway every day. For example, here is Kathy's blog, Shawkl. She is hosting a 7-day long giveaway to celebrate a loved one's birthday. Come and join!
And now, the pictures of Cirque des Cercles:
This one should be turned 90 degrees counter-clockwise...
This is what it looks like right now.

Another giveaway!

Robin is celebrating her blogoversary by organizing a giveaway! Click HERE to check it out and enter the draw before Thanksgiving!

I finally finished part 7 and 8 of  my Christmas sampler and scanned it. I'm not sure if it will fit in the scanner next time! I didn't print part 9 yet, I might need to buy a new ink cartridge before. Which worries me, as it's rather expensive. There is the option of having the cartridge refilled, but I heard some cases when it was done so badly it spilled out of the cartridge and ruined the printer. Anyone knows anything certain about this topic? I have no idea, just rumours but no facts.

I got another great package from Granma Jane, again two issues of the Stoney Creek Cross Stitch magazine and a hand made Christmas tree ornament as a bonus! Plus I got some nice postcards from an exchange in one of my favourite Yahoo groups. And I even treated myself to a Heritage kit by John Clayton that I wanted to stitch since the first time I saw it. And since I've been browsing those kits I decided to make a collage wish list just for fun!

Giveaways galore!

Maybe there is something in the way the stars and planets align, maybe it's just generosity in the air or the blogosphere, but I found another giveaway that I just have to enter and this is the post for it.
People who know me can tell that only two things make me more fanatic than cross stitch (not counting my daughter who is so important, she's off the chart), and those two things are boxes and beautiful papers. I'm in love with paper. I still write lots of letters on paper, and a diary, and a calendar, and whatnot.

But that's beside the point now. What matters is that Unikat has made this absolutely stunning little box and decided to give it away to a lucky person entering the draw. To see more photos of the box and read the rules in detail, please click right HERE.

To get an extra chance in winning I also have to post my favourite finished project for this year. It would be the DMC kit by Betty Davis of the little girl washing up, not only because my daughter loves it and tells everyone that the picture shows her doing chores, but also because it's the first piece of cross stitch my mother appreciates.
