This, my friends, I am happy to say, is my first garment made with my own crochet hooks. After all these tiny ornaments, doilies and such, I finally took a deep breath and made myself a short sleeved pullover. I love it very much, although I wish it was somewhat longer. I used a different yarn than recommended, it is a wool from Drops Design, so the measurements are not what I expected, but I am still happy with the outcome. I chose this yarn because I fell in love with the colour, and it matches my hair dye, which is a nice touch. I even bought a lipstick in this shade, because girls just wanna have colour coordinated fun. And now on to the next project.
Juggling motherhood, unemployment, depression and needlework obsession on my own with a (somewhat forced) smile on my face.

Throw Back Thursday
Did I ever tell you about my incredibly brief venture into modelling?
I was nineteen and obsessed with teen fashion magazines. Several times I read in interviews with famous singers and actresses that they started out as models because they were shy and thought modelling would help that. I was very shy, so I thought I'd give it a go. I did, and I never regretted it. I found an agency that would teach girls the essentials, then organized contests and hand pick the ones that would get a contract. They offered several training packages, and, incidentally, the ones who would pick the most expensive package would be the ones that got through to the next round. Fascinating coincidence, isn't it?

New flame
I have a new hobby. I just discovered this site called Polyvore where one can create collages online from thousands of pictures, outfits and accessories. One can even upload pictures for everyone to see and use. To me it is like scrapbooking. I fell in love with it at first try. Now that I have decided to spend more time pampering my creative side, I registered there and published my first sets. If you are interested, take a look and tell me what you think!
