Frog visit

Since a few members of the WIPocalypse SAL have mentioned that they are doing this thing called Mirabilia March, I have decided to concentrate on Circle of Friends more than any other project. I must be rubbish at concentrating, as I managed to make a huge mistake. I don't have dyslexia, but I somehow couldn't tell the difference between the numbers 745 abd 754, so what was supposed to be a nice, light yellow section, was stitched entirely with the flesh shade pink. I only noticed my mistake when I went on to work on the ladies' arms and realized I know this colour, and upon checking more thoroughly, I noticed I have two skeins of the same floss in my kit. So I had to frog the whole thing, and I swear to the goddess of cross stitching, I spent more time removing those stitches than I had putting them in in the first place. Below are the scans of the before and after phases of frogging. The photo of the correctly stitched piece will go to the WIPocalypse report later this week.

First finish of the year

My bigger pieces are growing slowly so I decided to do a smaller project so I can brush up on my happy dancing. And here it is, a small Lanarte kit that has a sister (with poppies) and took me only a few days to stitch start to finish.
I took a deep breath and started stitching the hair on my ballerina. If you recall, the kit has floss for brown hair but I wanted her to be blonde. Most of the colours I have chosen I'm satisfied with, except for the darkest shade. As it were, the darkest colour takes up most of the hair, and it is more brown than blonde. It would be okay if it would only be a shade here and there, but it's too much, it makes her look like the girl was the subject of an unsuccessful bleaching experiment that went horribly early 80's. So I will frog that colour and probably blend a lighter shade with the original floss to make it work. I will keep you updated.
I worked on Feasting Frenzy too, I will give you details when I'm done scanning.

Blog changes

First of all, as you can all see, my blog has a pretty new dress! You can get a new look too with the Blogger Template Designer, and the good news is, we no longer have to worry about losing info in the sidebars or having to re-write those huge "blogs I read" lists like earlier. Having to save and/or re-enter all those things was one of the things that kept me from changing templates.

The other thing that has changed is, unfortunately, the rules of commenting on my blog. Sorry about the inconvenience, but in the past months Stitch and Serve :) has become the target of Asian spambots that seem to have no problem with word verification. So now the comments will have to be moderated, at least for a few months. If the spammers leave me alone, I will go back to the old way.

No stitching pictures to share this time. I haven't got much done. Not even my monthly freebies. I have frogged more on those little rascals than I have the entire 2009. I got very frustrated with them. Then I suddenly realized that I am miscounting only when a certain person comes to visit. That is how I found out that my ex is a frog. Whenever he comes over to see his daughter, my needle goes out of control and I mess up my stitching. Unfortunately, being an ex, he cannot expect being kissed in this house, so all I can do is not stitch when he's around. But I will not leave you without a picture, so here is my funny baby:
